SOUTH EAST AND SOUTH SOUTH HAVE TAKEN POSITION

"For  the avoidance of doubt that no one will  accuse the good people of south east and south south Region for not showing empathy to plight of the Fulani cattle Breeders in respect to the Federal Government Demand for their Settlement across the   36 States of the Federation under the auspices of Cattle Settlement alias "RUGA". 

After several  correspondences and widest consultation with the authorities in the region and major key stakeholders , our region had  synthesized, articulated and had   enforced   key decision in respect to Federal Government Policy on RUGA project. The South East and South South Region  had taken stand and established as facts in two separate statements issued by the governors of the Region as followed.  

SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS STAND ON RUGA IMPLEMENTATION

According to  the chairman of the South East  Governor's Forum, Engr. Dave Nwaeze Umahi (Ebonyi State)," South East do not have land to give , Fulani Cattle Breeders shall engage the Region on Trade by Barter, bring your cattle on trailer load , sell us your Cattle and Buy our grasses  and load back to North where  RUGA may be allowed "  but we don't want cattle settlement in the south East. This is the unanimous agreement of the People of South East on the cattle settlement policy alias RUGA.

SOUTH SOUTH UNANIMOUS DECISION ON RUGA:

According to  the high ranked governor of the Region, the people governor of River State. He had expressly made it clear that River state had no land for RUGA, River state will only supply water from Bonny Island    through Pipelines to Sambisa Forest or Elsewhere in the North where RUGA may be allowed. River State in its capacity will donate water at zero cost to Sambisa for Fulani Cattle to drink and flourish but no land in River State is available for CATTLE RUGADISM , the statement conclude. 

In a similar  development , the OHANEZE YOUTH WING  had informed and communicated on its readiness to commence Cattle Breeding Venture that will be for the daily consumption for the Regional need. The statement that emanated from its regular meeting held in Owerri Imo State on 2nd July 2019.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Federal Government of Nigeria had suspended the RUGA project following the outcry of the citizens  on the perceived dangers of the concept of RUGA to the Hosy Communities.

Following the suspension of the RUGA, a coalition of Northern Elements had threatened the FGN and the Southern Leaders to reverse the suspension of the RUGA within 30 days ultimatum otherwise option B course of action will apply.        

Meanwhile, the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Chief John Nnia Nwodo had urged the Igbos in the North to be ready to defend themselves if worse happened. 

Furthermore, The World Igbos Intelligentsia  Network a body of highly learned Igbos Gentlemen and Ladies  across the globe comprising of Igbo Professors, Igbos in Academics, Captains of Industries, Igbo Inventors and Diplomats otherwise referred as "Igbos Think Tank",  had informed key decisions  to declare Sovereign Republic called "United States of Biafra" paraventure  any South Easterner or South South person is harmed after the 30 days ultimatum by the Northern Elements."
