GOV IHEDIOHA VISITS DECEASED FAMILY IN OBOWO



The Governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, was on Tuesday visited Obowo Local Government Area, where a police officer shot a young man named Master Ikenna Ukachi. 


The incident started between some youths of Otoko in Obowo and the police, which led to the death of the young man. As a result angry mob  burned down the police station, made away with arms and ammunitions and granting freedom to the detained by irate youths.


The Governor after visiting the Divisional Police Headquarters in Obowo which was set ablaze by the youths, also paid a visit to the bereaved family in Umuebea, Umuoke Obowo. 


He assured the deceased family that the Government will stand by them and support them at this trying period. 


The governor assured that the policeman will be brought to book. He ordered the Commissioner of police in the state to fish out the cop, while urging them to ensure that all those who took the laws into their hands are apprehended. 


He prayed God to grant the soul of Ikenna eternal rest.
