A 36 year-old mother with three children identified as Chizoba Ogbonna allegedly staged her own kidnap to extort money from her family and with the intention of traveling abroad with her boyfriend.
She graduated from Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri in Imo State. She was arrested along side with two of her other people that assisted her named Uche Anthony and Joseph Ezema.
It was gathered that one of her relatives reported the issue to police when they demanded two million (N2,000,000) ransom from them.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari ordered for immediate action. During the investigation, they were able to track the kidnappers to an uncompleted building at Agborji community in Abriba-Ohafia area.
Police had the intention of rescuing her and arrest the kidnappers. They were shocked to know that Chizoba was having affair with John Ezema. They also discovered that the intention of staging her kidnap was to extort money from her family and travel out with her boyfriend.
