SOUTH-EAST DANCERS DENIED PERFORMANCE ON JUNE 12, DEMOCRACY DAY

June 12, Democracy Day was so interesting and went successful but South-East was denied performance as the time their Masquerade dancers were set to performance, the guest of honour, President Muhammadu Buhari was ushered in for his inaugural speech.

The South-west, North and South-south regions showcased their cultural values but South-East cultural value was neglected.

They leader felt bad as how South-East was subsumed into the South-south.

The moderator said "People of the South-East and South-south are mostly fishermen. Fishing is a tradition in the regions" when South-south was performing. He made this statement when he noticed that Igbo dancers were hanging around and waiting to be called.
