This was first time in many decades that the Old Eastern Region Traditional Rulers gathered to held an emergency meeting for common interest of their people.
The meeting held in Awka, Anambra State where the traditional rulers of the South East and South South regions came to raised the hopes of stronger ties between the diverse cultural groups in the old Eastern Region.
It was led by the Chairman of South East Traditional Rulers Council, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe.
The Seminar was titled "Igbo Nwelu Eze: Perspectives on the Traditional Institution in Ani Igbo."
