A man named Samuel Chidi, who graduated from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki insisted that his wife Nkechi will deliver at home and locked her up as she bled to death.
It was gathered that he locked his wife in a room with a patent medicine dealer who administered improper injections and dragged the baby out while the husband pinned her legs down. He collected the blood and placenta hid in his room and left the woman in pain to bleed till death.
The incident happened around 11pm, Chidi hid it from neighbours even the deceased family till the next day when a nurse who came to check on his wife had the sad news.
She persuaded him to deposit the corpse to the morgue for immediate attention while the baby will be moved into intensive care.
The deceased family was later informed and they insisted that the corpse will be dump in the Chidi's compound in order to continue with what he intended to do with the corpse.
Luckily for him the Nigeria Police from Kpirikpiri Station who were on a patrol duty intervened.
