Alligator pepper (Afromomum melegueta) is from the family plant of Zingiberaceae which is locally known as one oji in Igbo and ata ire in Yoruba. 

Alligator pepper is being known by its distinguished property healing due to its high amount of tannin. Tannin is very effective in healing burn wounds and surgical wounds. 

Health benefits of Alligator pepper:
