The Federal Government was abolished Barchelor’s Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) dichotomy in all the services under the Ministry of Interior.
The affected ministries were Nigeria Security, Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Prisons Service and Federal Fire Service.
Before the new policy, Barchelor’s Degree holders are into Superintendent cadre while HND holders are employed into the Inspectorate cadre.
So now, the HND holders that were Inspectorate cadre will now moved to Superintendent cadre without obtaining degree certificate again.
This was as a result of the board meeting that was hold over a year now to upgrade the HND holders points Grade Level 7 to Grade Level 8 as Barchelor’s Degree holders too.
This new policy was approved during the board meeting that took place on 9th and 10th of May and was confirmed on Tuesday.
