The Eje of Dekina has joined other traditional rulers to endorsed Governor Bello Yahaya for second term on Thursday in Lokoja-Kogi State.
The question is this, does Bello Yahaya deserves a second term?
The negative impression he imparted in his first term didn't go well with his people, then how will the second term favour them. He stayed 39 months in office and hold workers 38 months salary.
They are going to be seeing more and more of this if nothing happens to our constitution. The chiefs know why they are doing what they are doing. We have a nation whose constitution does not clearly recognize traditional rulers placing them at the mercy of local interpretation and jurisdiction of Local Government Council heads who by virtue of Section 8 of the same 1999 constitution is under the over sight function of the Governors.
These are the failure blocks dating back in the days of military rule which is weakening our society and values. Today, politicians are knee knocking because of the potentials of mass revolution. If nothing happens to correct our system, in another 10 years, politicians will be more despotic than milads.
