A NIGERIAN LADY BECOMES THE FIRST BLACK VALEDICTORIAN IN SCHOOL'S, 125-YEAR HISTORY IN USA


A Nigerian lady named Tobechukwu Tobi Phillips has broken a record by earning 6.9 GPA on a 4.0 scale in the school located in Texas, USA. 

She was a First Black Valedictorian in Alvin High School's 125 year history. It wasn't easy for her but she stood still by earning A's in all the AP courses she took during her four years in the school.

She was among the 86 black students out of approximately 2,800 students in the school.

She received the Full-Ride Forty Acre Scholarship to attend the University of Texas at Austin. She was among 16 chosen out of 4,000 students.
