ETHIOPIAN COMMUNITY RALLY OVER ABUSIVE HUSBAND WHO DISFIGURED WIFE, BLINDED BY ACID ATTACK FOR ASKING FOR A DIVORCE


Ethiopian woman who demand for a divorce by her abusive husband was disfigured, blinded by acid attack threw all over her face and body.


The community is rallying behind Atsade Nigese from Ethiopia, who survived a brutal act of domestic violence when her husband poured acid all over her face and body.


According to her friend who narrated that Nigese says her husband, who was a federal police officer in Ethiopia, regularly beat her and have broken her teeth, also a year ago, he threw acid on her after she told him she wants a divorce.


Nigese is now blind with scarred skin with her body disfigured. Her own son had rejected her because he can't recognized her again but only identify her by her voice.


Nigese has been living with Menbere Aklilu of Richmond for nearly seven months now. Both have survived domestic abuse.

Recently, Nigese has slowly learning how to walk around with the use of cane.


However, doctors from the University of California at San Francisco have devoted to reconstruct her ears, eyelids nose and mouth.
