From the jungles of east Asia to the Wild West?

Has traumatised Vietnam war vet John Rambo retired to become a cowboy?

That's the question action fans are asking themselves as Sylvester Stallone posted two pictures of the iconic character dressed as a cowboy on Tuesday, as filming began onRambo 5.

Posting to his personal Instagram, with the hashtag #Rambo5, Stallone's pictures show the character sporting a cowboy hat and riding a horse in his dotage, a look as far removed from the hell of the jungles of South East Asia that formed Rambo as possibly can be imagined.

In May, Stallone confirmed on Instagram thatRambowould be released in Fall 2019. The film will be directed by  Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay by Matthew Cirulnick.

Stallone will next appear in Creed 2, reprising arguably his most famous character Rocky Balboa. The boxing sequel, starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, will hit theaters on Nov. 21.
