The Agatha Christie novel, first published in 1937, saw master detective Hercule Poirot on a vacation in Egypt and becoming involved in a love triangle gone murderously bad.
Branagh will return to direct the Murder on the Orient Express follow-up, which is being written by Michael Green.
Death on the Nile is eyeing a mid-2019 start date, with Fox already dating the movie for a Dec. 20, 2019, release.
Hammer, who is repped by WME and Sloane Offer, will next be seen in Focus Features' On the Basis of Sex.
