Davido's relationship with a number politicians over the years gives room for us to call him a "friend of the government."


Its the election season and one singer who has become not just present in rallies but has built for himself a relationship with a number of politicians is, Davido.
Whether we like it or not, Davido has become an influential figure when it comes to politics. Not impressed?

Now let's look at it from this angle, the moment Davido decided to jump on his uncle's (Senator Ademola Adeleke) campaign, the tides in Osun state politics changed.

His mere presence at the different rallies held by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) made a huge influence in the way the votes went during the election proper.

Even though Senator Ademola Adeleke lost controversially, it became clear that Davido isn't just the singer meant for the sold out concerts but a face to reckon with in politics.

Since the Osun state elections, he has been spotted with some politicians who have played host to him.

Visiting Atiku Abubakar

Since Atiku Abubakar emerged as the presidential candidate for the PDP, his popularity has grown stronger, with different people paying visits to him to congratulate him on his victory.

However, one person who was guest at Atiku's residence is Davido. Davido visited Atiku Abubakar's residence with his girlfriend, Chioma by his side.


A visibly excited Davido took to his Instagram page where he thanked the former vice president for receiving him.


The meeting with Yemi Osibanjo
Prior to officially pitching tents with the PDP, Davido had a relationship with some members of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Back in 2015, Davido was spotted with the vice president, Yemi Osibanjo during an event in Abuja. After the meeting, Davido hinted that the vice president couldn't wait for his second album to come out. It should be noted that during the campaign season back in 2014-2015, Davido performed at APC rallies.


Even Bola Tinubu makes the list
Back in 2015, when Davido still had a cordial relationship with members of the PDP, he also had the opportunity to hang out with the former governor of Lagos state and national leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. At that time, Davido was still juggling between school and making good music.

The governors of Rivers and Ebonyi states


Just so you all know, there are going to be more political rallies and it looks like Davido is going to be performing in a lot of them especially those affiliated to the PDP. So it didn't come as a surprise when he shared photos of the governors of Rivers and Ebonyi states, Nyesom Wike and David Umahi and himself at an event. In his post, he called the governor of Rivers state his very good friend! This goes to tell you how politically powerful Davido has become.

As we await the campaign season proper, it is obvious that Davido will be at a lot these political rallies soliciting supports for some of his political associates and friends.
