Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger announced that the state achieved an internally-generated revenue (IGR) of ₦3.5 billion in May.

Mr. Bago made this announcement on Wednesday in Suleja, Niger, during the 155th Joint Task Board meeting, which focused on the theme "Post Reform: Enhancing Revenue Authorities for Optimal Tax Management."

He highlighted his administration's commitment to fostering collaboration with the JTB for the exchange of ideas and skills.

He stated, “Between January and May this year, we collected an average of ₦2.621 billion monthly, compared to an average of ₦1.806 billion monthly the previous year.

“In May alone, we generated ₦3.508 billion, representing a 45 percent increase.

“This growth has not only allowed us to expand infrastructure projects but also to improve social service delivery across various sectors, thereby enhancing the quality of life for our citizens.”
