The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was on Wednesday July 17, 2019 approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Emir of Lafia, HRH Sidi M. Baga CON, JSC (rtd) to be the Port-Harcourt, Rivers State University Chancellor.
Governor used the voter powers conferred on him by S. 3 and Schedule 1 of the 2017 Rivers State University.
The appointment is meant to take effect immediately.
