The royal family of Jigawa from Fulani tribe whose forefathers were scholars in Dutsa and from a home known as Gidan Malamai said that Atiku Abubakar is their grandson.
He said that Atiku's mother late Mrs Kande Garba who was known as Kande Yar-Malam was from Dutsa and her uncle, Adamu Ma'aruf, who was the chief Imam of Dutsa Central Mosque before he died five years after the creation of states in, 1991.
Late Kande Yar-Malam was a younger to late Alhaji Ali and late Azumi.
She married to Garba Atiku's father from Sokoto and later moved to present Adamawa where Atiku Abubakar was born.
