OBIANO LAUDS INEC ON PEACEFUL CONDUCT OF STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTION


The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has commended INEC for peaceful conduct of the state House of Assembly election.

Governor Obiano who was accompanied by his wife Dr Ebelechukwu, was speaking at his Polling Unit Amaeze Ward One, Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area with his wife after casting his ballot.

Addressing the media shortly after exercising his  franchise, Governor Obiano who tasked the citizenry especially the youth on protecting the votes to make sure they count urged Ndi Anambra to come out and vote massively for their choice candidates.

Despite the poor turnout at the centre, Obiano expressed satisfaction at the number of persons he met on ground, expressing the hope that people would turn out in large numbers in voting centers across the state afterwards.

He described the process as fair, while commending the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the process.

At Otuocha ward 1, Unit 001, with impressive turnout of voters, the Director of Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Chief Tony Oli commended INEC noting that there was improvement when compared with what happened during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

On his part, at Mgboko Public Square, Unit 007, Aguleri, the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor said that voting materials arrived at exactly 8am, and commended the entire process.
