BREAKING NEWS: COURT ORDERS INEC TO STOP COLLATION AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS IN RIVERS


Federal high court has ordered Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop the announcement and collation of results of the gubernatorial election of 9th March in Rivers State.

Rivers state election was disturbed which led to the suspension of some collation center. AAC candidate was leading in the results which was declared at the various collation center by INEC returning officer before it was disrupted.

The commission has discovered the root course of violence which led to the suspension of the results.

Inyang Ewa ordered INEC to appear before the court of Friday for healing of petition filed against it by the ACC members.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria Ransome Uwa (SAN) represented the INEC in court, he challenged motion of its jurisdiction but the application was objected.

Counsel Mohammed Abali reminding the court that the order filed on Monday telling the electoral body why the request will not be granted and had not been obeyed.
