Liverpool Mohammed Salah and Sadio mane have finally been nominated alongside Gabonese Pierre Emrick Aubameyang in the final three for the Upcoming CAF 2018 awards which will be announced in a few weeks time.
Salah was recorded as the African Best player ahead of teammate Sadio Mane and Pierre Emrick Aubameyang in the 2017 edition of the award, and he is also set to rival the same duo in this seasons edition as well, following a great comeback, challenging for this season golden boot award, after a slow start of the season.


The Egyptian Liverpool forward earned a prominent record for the reds, following his arrival from Italian side AS Roma two seasons ago. he was also part of the reds shooting force which succeeded in reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2017, but had his side bowed to a defeat to reigning champions Real Madrid after suffering a shoulder injury in a clash with Spanish defender Sergio Ramos.


Although, Salah had one goal to his name in a 5-1 victory over Unai Emery’s Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening, after Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi succeeded in creating a vital chance which was converted by Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the 11 minutes of the game to give the Gunners the lead. which has helped the Reds maintained their position as Premier League leaders.


A combination of votes from head coaches and technical directors of CAF’s national teams, members of the organization’s technical and development committee, and a panel of media experts will decide the recipient of 2018 gone. Reds fans are currently backing the Liverpool number 11 to claim the award for the second time ahead of its opponent, which will be a boost for him throughout the remaining fixtures of the season. Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi was nominated for the Awards but later lost his spot to teammate Pierre Emrick Aubameyang.
